Guide to Selling Webkinz Items

 Guide to Selling Items

Here is a guide for what to sell and what not to sell on Webkinz World!  Almost all items and prizes can be sold back to the W-Shop for half their original value/price, though some items are very valuable and shouldn't be sold.

See my guide for trading and the value of Webkinz items here.

Do Sell:

Duplicates of most things (that you can easily win again or aren't worth trading)
Low value prizes/items that you don't like (from Today's Activities, daily log-in, etc)
Non-deluxe clothing that you don't like
Challenge prizes you don't like (like the smaller, less exciting prizes from the 1st or 2nd part of the challenge)
Common and uncommon Magical Forest prizes
Crown of Wonder
Farm Fresh Food
Extra food (worth 10kc or more)
Vacation Wheel prizes
Kinzville Academy Recess prizes
Spree! Shopping Bag prizes
Wacky Snack Pack foods
Anything else that is not worth trading but that you don't want

Examples of what to sell:

Don't Sell:

Rare items
Exclusive items (never sell these!)
Pet Specific items (never sell these!)
Pet of the Month exclusives (never sell these!)
Deluxe prizes (Deluxe Day, Deluxe challenges, etc)
Deluxe clothing
Most challenge prizes (these are sometimes turned into exclusive items after the challenge is over and made available at the Wish Factory)
Most click-to-win prizes
Grand prizes (Magical Forest, etc)
Some Wheel of Wow / Deluxe Wheel prizes
Most Winterfest or other seasonal prizes (with the exception of duplicates, esp. clothing)
Jumbleberry Fields Jar prizes
Kinzville Academy class prizes (never sell these!)
Plushies (non W-shop)
Retired items (unless you can still buy it at the Curio Shop)
Spree! Mall prizes
Trophies
Webkinz Newz prizes
Foods worth less than 10 kc (just feed it to your pet, it's not valuable enough to bother selling it)

Examples of what not to sell:

Tip #1
: Even if you don't want any of the items mentioned above, I still strongly recommend keeping them and trading them later. That's what I do.  I actually purposely buy extra rare items just to trade (I use my secondary accounts to do this).  Unless you are in serious need of immediate kinzcash, it's not worth it to sell these items. They are just too valuable and difficult to find, and worth a lot more than the kinzcash you will receive for them (especially exclusive items; for some reason these only sell for a couple hundred kc, though they're way more valuable than that).  It's better to trade these items for another valuable item that you do want.  You can trade in the Clubhouse obviously, but I also recommend using the Webkinz subreddit page or the Webkinz Newz trading forum to make trades.  Be patient!  Some items might sit in your storage room for awhile, but someone is likely going to want them at some point (especially as time goes by and the item becomes older and increases in value).  I have multiple storage rooms in my Webkinz house where I keep these items.  Sometimes, items from challenges are made into exclusive items after they have already been released.  Once I won several Dragonfly Wall Art pieces in a challenge and then sold them.  Now you can get them at the Wish Factory for over 30 tokens each!  I definitely regret selling them.

Tip #2: The only time I would ever recommend selling a rare item is if you need the money to buy a different rare item (that you want more) from the Curio Shop. Since you don't have much time to do that (>1hr), selling a rare item is a quick way to make the necessary kinzcash. However, I would recommend selling an expensive W-Shop item or two instead, as they can be repurchased far more easily.  I only recommend selling a rare item if you have a duplicate of it and haven't been able to trade it, and don't have any W-Shop items to sell.

Tip #3: As mentioned above, if you need kinzcash quickly, sell large W-Shop items (ex: a TV,  a pool, a stove, or a bed). These items cost the most kc so you will earn back more kinzcash and have to sell less things. It's better to sell one bed than two counters + a chair.  If I need to do this, I choose an item or two from an unfinished room rather than a completed one so I don't mess up any finished designs.

Tip #4: If you have multiple accounts and need kinzcash on one of them, buy three of the most expensive item you can find in the W-Shop and send them to the account that needs kinzcash (I believe the most expensive item is the Oak Paneled Pool), and then sell them on that account.  However, I only recommend doing this when you have a few W-Shop coupons, as you still technically lose kinzcash overall unless you buy the items with coupons that are worth 50% off or more.  See my post about the advantages of having more than one account here.

Tip #5: Again, as mentioned above, if you have an extra coupon that is worth more than 50% off (it must be worth at least 60% off or more) you can buy a really expensive W-Shop item and then sell it back right away for a small profit.

Tip #6: Some items can't be traded or sold, which is annoying. If you acquire an item that you don't like and you can't trade it or sell it, put it in a room in your house labelled "Storage" or "Stuff I Can't Sell."  I now have two rooms full of stuff I don't like but can't sell.  It doesn't matter how it looks; I just cram those rooms full of as many items as I can fit.  It's annoying, but this way those items don't take up space in my dock.  I also put wallpaper/flooring that I don't like + can't sell in these rooms.

I hope this helps!

How To Find The Gem Of The Day

Curio Shop Rumours & How To Find
The Webkinz Gem Of The Day

Read my other post about the Curio Shop here.

It is known that the higher on the pyramid within each colour category a gem is, the more kinzcash you'll receive for it.
White gems are generally the most valuable, though common gems sell for very little regardless of colour.
The background colour of a mine corresponds to the rarest gem that can be found in it.
Ex: the background colour of the Buried Bones mine is white, and the rarest gem that can be found in that mine is the white Webkinz Diamond.

Mine Colours:

Buried Bones Mine: White
Barking Mad Mine: Yellow
Muzzle Mouth Mine: Red
Howling Horse Mine: Blue
Flea Floater Mine: Green

Order Value (highest to lowest):

Rare
1. Webkinz Diamond (Buried Bones Mine) - the most valuable of all gems
2. Red Ruby Heart (Muzzle Mouth Mine) - the second most valuable of all gems
3. Ocean Sapphire (Howling Horse Mine)
4. Earth Emerald (Flea Floater Mine)
5. Corona Topaz (Barking Mad Mine) - the least valuable of rare gems

Uncommon
1. Aurora Rox (Buried Bones Mine, Barking Mad Mine)-the most valuable of uncommon gems
2. Pyramid Plunder (Buried Bones Mine, Barking Mad Mine)
3. Yum Zum Sparkle (Muzzle Mouth Mine, Buried Bones Mine)
4. Unicorn Horn (Muzzle Mouth Mine, Buried Bones Mine)
5. Moss Marble (Howling Horse Mine, Flea Floater Mine)
6. Cat's Eye Glint (Howling Horse Mine, Flea Floater Mine)
7. Tear Drop Tower (Barking Mad Mine, Howling Horse Mine)
8. Sea Stone (Barking Mad Mine, Howling Horse Mine)
9. Ember Amber (Flea Floater Mine, Muzzle Mouth Mine)
10. Volcano Viscose (Flea Floater Mine, Muzzle Mouth Mine)-the least valuable of uncommon gems

Once you have collected all of the gems, you can obviously trade them for the Webkinz Crown of Wonder. If you already have one or if you don't like it, you can sell the Crown of Wonder for 2,250 kinzcash.  However, if you sell your gems instead, you will probably earn an average of about 250 kc for each rare gem and an average of about 100 kc for each uncommon gem. In total, you would earn about 2,200 kc (not including kinzcash from common gems) over time. I kept my estimates on the lower end, but even still, if you count the earnings from common gems, you would technically still earn more (or at least the same amount) by just selling all of your gems to Arte rather than keeping them and trading for + selling the Crown of Wonder.  However, you do get a lot of kinzcash all at once if you sell the crown, rather than a little bit over a long period of time like if you sell gems. Selling your gems is one way to establish rapport with Arte however (I think it helps you advance through the Curio Shop levels, though I'm not certain; tipping is definitely the better/quicker way to do this).

The prices Arte offers for different gems varies and is not the same each time, but here are some Webkinz World rumours regarding the prices he offers.

Rumours:
  • The Gem of the Day usually sells for double its going rate, and then plummets in price the next day and is worth a lot less than normal. I don't know if this is true, but the Gem of the Day does always sell for more than it usually goes for.
  • Sparkling rocks have gems in them (this isn't necessarily true, though rocks with two sparkles seem to often have gems).
  • The Bat or the Spider in the cave will lead you to a gem.  This seems to be generally true, but not always. There is usually a common gem near where the Bat goes or where the Spider is, though not always and it's usually not a rare gem (in my experience, anyway).
  • Arte offers you more kinzcash for a gem if you don't have it yet. This seems to be true based on my  experience.
  • Being level 6 with Arte gets you higher sale prices for gems (I am level 6, and I don't find this to be noticeably true).
  • If you tip Arte 100 kc right before you do your gem hunt, you will get offered higher sale prices for the gem you find.  I have tried this, and it does seem to work (remember small tips offend Arte, so tip 100 kc).
  • The Webkinz Diamond will sell for 1000 kc when it is the Gem of the Day (I'm not sure how true this is, as I only received 325 kc when I found the Webkinz Diamond yesterday, though it was not the Gem of the Day.  If it's true that the Gem of the Day sells for double its usual rate, then the Webkinz Diamond wouldn't sell for 1000 kc, as double its usual rate would be 650 kc).

These are just rumours, so don't take them as fact!

Tip: When I hunt for gems, I like to scroll to one of the ends of the caves and choose the furthest or second furthest rock. This doesn't always work, but then again there isn't a foolproof strategy for finding gems anyway (at least that I know of). But it's usually best to scroll a bit rather than just clicking on the first rock you see.  I also like to choose rocks that are extra sparkly and/or are near the Bat or Spider. Also, I find that it's worth it to search the cave that is the same colour as the Gem of the Day, so that you have a better chance of finding it.

I hope this helps! Good luck finding the Gem of the Day!

Random Webkinz World Tips #3

The Do's & Don'ts of Webkinz World

Welcome!  Here is another list of 25 Webkinz tips!

Links to my other Webkinz Tips posts:

Tip #1: Don't sell items that you know you will have to repurchase later. There is no point, as you just end up losing kinzcash in the long run.  I only recommend doing this if you need kinzcash quickly, say to buy a rare item that is only on sale for a limited period of time.

Tip #2Do enroll two pets in classes at the Kinzville Academy.  Originally, I only completed classes with my pet Shep at the Kinzville Academy.  Shep is now level 10 in most subjects, but my other pets are all at rather low levels.  This is fine for competing at the Webkinz Stadium, as I only enter Shep in competitions and Quick Events.  However, every time a pet completes a level 10 class at the academy, you get to choose a really cool prize, and the number of classes your other pets have to do decreases.  The number of classes the first two pets have to do is the highest, so it is best to enroll two of them in the Academy, and enroll your other pets in the class once your first one or two have completed level 10 (they will have to do far fewer classes). I also do classes with my pet Cassie now.

Tip #3: Don't close games / activities until you are finished and have received the kinzcash. If you exit the game too early, sometimes you won't receive the kinzcash!

Tip #4: Do sell items you don't want (but don't sell special or rare event prizes).  Every day, I sell the prizes that I earned if I don't want them.  For example, if I win a Wacky Snack Pack, I sell the food that comes in it because it sells for a lot more than normal food, and isn't a special item.

Tip #5: Don't play Rock the Boat on Vacation Island if you are trying to increase your pet's Family Score.  If your pet sees the ghost, its energy levels will decrease to zero.  If you don't care about your family score it's fine to play the game, though I often find it is not worth it. However, if you see the ghost but close the game immediately, sometimes your pets health levels won't decrease.

Tip #6: Do buy food for your pets. I like to buy a bunch of food from the W-Shop at once for my pets, as it keeps their energy levels high when I feed it to them and increases my family score.  I also grow Farm Fresh food to feed to them.

Tip #7: Don't try to make food or clothing recipes on your own.  The probability of guessing a correct recipe is very low.  If you want to make a food or clothing recipe, I have a list of food recipes here and a list of clothing recipes here.

Tip #8: Do check Today's Activities every hour when you're playing Webkinz.  If you play multiple times a day or for more than one hour at a time, make sure you check Today's Activities to see what the hourly activity is. Every hour, the activity changes and you get to do a new activity, such as Balloon Dartz or the Prize Claw.

Tip #9: Don't bother playing certain Today's Activities like the Jellybean Challenge, Quick Draws, or even Quizzy's Blast.  I find that these activities award so little kinzcash or give you such a low probability of winning that it's not worth playing.  I do have a guide to winning the Jellybean Challenge however, so if you would like to try to win it you can check that out here.

Tip #10: Do play games at the Tournament Arena instead of the Arcade.  If you have a favourite game, play it at the Tournament Arena.  This way, if you place in the tournament, you can earn extra kinzcash in addition to the kinzcash you already earned playing the game.

Tip #11: Don't sell rare or exclusive items.  Exclusive items often don't sell for that much kinzcash (much less than they're worth) and though some rare items do sell for a lot, it is usually better to trade them if you don't like them.  You can always earn more kinzcash the next day.

Tip #12: Do spin the Wheel of Wishes at the Wish Factory every day if you are a Deluxe member.  I also make a Wish of the Day every time I play, but I have never won despite making over a hundred wishes.  If you are not a Deluxe member I do not recommend making a Wish of the Day, as it is not worth it to go to the Wish Factory just for that reason.

Tip #13: Don't buy Pet-Specific foods.  These foods are really expensive (25 kc) and it's often not worth it to feed them to your pet.  Regular W-Shop foods are fine.

Tip #14: Do decorate your Kinzville Map.  It looks so much nicer when you organize and decorate it.  I have a post about how to do that here!

Tip #15: Don't do easy jobs at the Employment Office.  They are not worth the effort, as you can earn much more kinzcash by doing a hard or medium job.  I recommend mastering at least one or two hard jobs (the Kinzville Mover job is easier in my opinion) and at least two or three medium jobs (I like the Babysitter job and the Grocery Clerk job).

Tip #16: Do check Webkinz Newz whenever you play Webkinz.  I go on Webkinz Newz every time I play Webkinz in order to 1) earn moneyz and 2) see what is happening in Webkinz World (you can see if there are new themes, new challenges, etc).  You can exchange moneyz for cool prizes; I have a post about that here.

Tip #16Don't buy a ton of E-Store points.  I like to buy them occasionally, but it's usually not worth it since there are a lot of other items you can buy from the W-Shop or Curio Shop, or that you can win.

Tip #17Do buy items from Arte at the Curio Shop.  Sometimes they cost less than at the W-Shop.

Tip #18Don't enter large Open, Deluxe, or Pro competitions at the Webkinz Stadium until you are at least level 9+ (ideally 10) in all three relevant classes at the Kinzville Academy (for Quick Events, you can still win if you are level 10 in two subjects and levels 5-9 in one subject).  In big competitions though, you definitely will not place without being level 10.  For Amateur competitions, enter when you are level 5 in all three classes.

Tip #19Do put your pet to bed before you log out. Their energy levels will be higher when you log back in.

Tip #20Don't sell most prizes that you can't buy again.  Of course, I sell a lot of items that I win each day (like Vacation Wheel prizes, etc) but you should try to save most challenge and event prizes even if you don't have a current use for them, as you might be able to trade them later.

Tip #21Do have a storage room (or two, or three!) for extra items.

One of my Storage Rooms:

Tip #22Don't buy small rooms.  They are usually not big enough for any room design.  See my decorating tips page here.

Tip #23Do buy small items with E-Store points, like wallpaper, flooring, or small room decorations.  These cost far fewer points and make rooms look really good.

Tip #24Don't buy really expensive items from the W-Shop without a coupon.  The best items to use coupons for are the really expensive ones that cost upwards of 1000 kinzcash.

Tip #25Do label your rooms in a clear way that makes sense to you.  I have a system that I use for labeling my rooms and it makes it easier to find them, which can be hard because I have so many now.  Also, group similar rooms together. Ex: I put all of my classrooms in a row next to each other.

I hope this helps!

Guide To Webkinz Gardening

 How To Garden For Profit

Gardening for profit is a great way to earn kinzcash!  If you set up multiple farms, you will be able to earn upwards of 1000 kc each harvest.  You can harvest your crops about once a week.
I recommend only using Pumpkin and Watermelon seeds to garden for profit, as these crops are the most profitable.  Each pumpkin or watermelon sells for 10 kc, and the seeds cost 45 kc to buy.  If you purchase 63 packets of seeds and one large outdoor room, the total cost comes to 3835 kc. Thus, it will take about 7 harvests to start earning a profit.  It is definitely worth it however, as you can earn a lot of kinzcash in the long run!

The Farm
This farm yields 402 kinzcash per harvest.  I made it to grow food for my pets; I usually only sell about half of the food and feed the rest to my pets.  Feeding your pets farm fresh food increases their energy levels by a lot and can raise your family score.

The Watermelon Farm
This farm yields 630 kinzcash per harvest.  You don't have to arrange it like I did however; you can add more crops around the edges in order to earn even more kinzcash!

The Pumpkin Patch
This farm yields 630 kinzcash per harvest.

The Apple Orchard
This room is just for decorative purposes, as the apple trees only yield 30 kinzcash per harvest altogether.

I hope this helps!  Happy gardening!

Webkinz Pizza Palace Tips #2

Webkinz Pizza Palace: The Ideal
Way to Play

The best way to play Pizza Palace is by playing with the order patterns on the screen beside the game. Above is a screenshot of my screen while playing. This way, you can see the level patterns while playing and know what pizzas to make ahead of time.  However, if you are playing on the Desktop app you can only play in full screen mode, but you can pull up the level patterns on your phone instead.

Tip: Don't skip the tutorial. The extra cash is useful later on for upgrading appliances.

Prior to level 13, you should upgrade your topping machines and everything else except your last oven and pizza maker.  It it useful to have three upgraded topping machines for level 13 rather than pizza makers, since it is the quarter pizza level and quarter pizzas take very little time to make.

By level 14, you should be able to upgrade all of your appliances.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

How To Increase Your Webkinz Family Score

How To Increase Your Family Score

By increasing your family score, you can earn cool prizes. In this post, I will list some tips for increasing your score and show examples of the prizes you can earn.

Tips For Increasing Your Family Score:

Tip #1: Do the task your pet is asking you to do.  Clearly, this is the most obvious way to earn family score points - if your pet is asking you to do something, do it and you will earn around 20-30 points.

Tip #2: Feed your pet, put your pet to bed, or bathe your pet to quickly earn family score points. You don't have to leave your pet in bed for a long time or wait until they are sleepy to earn the points.

Tip #3: Always do the easy tasks (Ex: if your pet asks to do some room redecorating, just quickly drag something random into your room and you will get the family score points).  If your pet asks to play an Arcade game, open the game but only play it for a couple of seconds, then close it.  You'll still get the points.  Some tasks, like doing a job, take longer and either aren't worth doing or aren't possible to do (you can't do a job if you already did one an hour ago).

Tip #4: If your pet isn't asking for anything, try switching pets and see if another pet wants something.  You can still earn points if you feed/bathe/put them to bed even when they're not hungry/dirty/sleepy.

Tip #5: If you have 2 accounts, you can send the family score prizes from one account to the other. Then you get 2x the family score prizes.  See my post about the advantages of having more than one account here.

Tip #6: If you want to earn a bunch of points, feed all of your pets at once. Buy a bunch of food from the W-shop and switch between your pets, feeding them until each one of them is full. You will earn quite a few points by doing this.

Tip #7: Put all of your pets to bed. In the same way that feeding all of your pets will earn you points, putting all of your pets to bed (or bathing them / brushing their teeth) will earn you points.

Tip #8: Playing games / doing activities can earn you points.

Tip #9: Dress your pet or buy your pet clothes / W-shop items.

Tip #10: Exercise your pet by having them run on a treadmill, jump on a trampoline or swim in a pool.  This will earn you points, and you can earn triple the points if you do all three things.

 Family Score Prizes:

I hope these tips help you increase your family score!

How To Win A Quick Event In The Webkinz Stadium

How To Win A Webkinz Quick Event

Quick Events are one of the best/fastest ways to earn kinzcash.  Once I enter my pet in a quick event, I go on another website until it is over, enter my pet in the next quick event, and repeat. You can earn SO MUCH kinzcash doing this. Today I earned over 25,000 kc doing this while watching Netflix/Youtube.  I also enter my pet in Quick Events while I'm writing posts for this blog!

1st place: 250 kc prize money, Gold Medal worth 300 kc - Total: 550 kc
2nd place: 100 kc prize money, Silver Medal worth 200 kc - Total: 300 kc
3rd place: 50 kc prize money, Bronze Medal worth 150 kc - Total: 200 kc

Once your pet is level 8+ in all 3 subjects in an event, start entering them in Quick Events. If you want to place in a Quick Event, it should say "Fleet Footed Favourite" or "Speedy Sprinter" underneath the subject when you select the Running Quick Event, for example.

My favourite events are the Running and Cooking events, as my pet is level 10 on most of those subjects. However, I don't like doing the styling class because I find it boring so Shep is only level 6 in that which is why I don't enter him in beauty pageants.

Quick Events are boring if you watch them, but what is great about them is that you can just do something else while they are going on! You practically earn kinzcash just for clicking the screen a few times!

I hope this helps you earn lots of kinzcash! Good luck in your Quick Events!

Love, Pippa xoxo

How To Earn Prizes On Webkinz Newz

Webkinz Newz Prizes

A great way to earn cool prizes is by going on Webkinz Newz.  If you log in with your Webkinz account or sign up for a Webkinz Newz account, you can earn moneyz and click-to-win prizes that you can send to your actual Webkinz account.

Webkinz Newz Moneyz

You can earn moneyz simply by clicking around the site. You can then buy items with the moneyz and send those items to your Webkinz account. Simply keep clicking on one of the Newz tabs as many times and as fast as you can, and you will earn 1 moneyz per click (you can earn up to 500 moneyz per day).  If you click really fast, you can earn the 500 moneyz in just a few minutes (if you have a Macbook, set up the trackpad so that you only have to lightly tap to click, rather than press).

Pro Tip: Enter your pet in a Quick Event while you click around on the Webkinz Newz site to earn moneyz.  This way, you can earn kinzcash and moneyz at the same time!

These are some of the prizes you can currently buy with your moneyz as of January 2021 (I'm currently saving up for the Princess Bouncy Castle).

Most items only cost about 3000 moneyz.  If you visit Webkinz Newz and earn 500 moneyz every day for just six days in a row, that means you will be able to purchase an item like the the Posh Penthouse Blue Armchair in only 6 days.  I do not recommend purchasing the bag of 200 kinzcash with your moneyz, as it is of much less value than the other prizes (and it's a lot less exciting!).  It takes more time to earn enough moneyz to purchase the bag of 200 kinzcash than it does to earn 2,000 kinzcash actually playing Webkinz.

Click-To-Win Prizes

Webkinz Newz also has click-to-win and Peek-a-Newz contests in which you can win small items and send them to your account. They hold several of these contests per year, often around the holidays.  You will see an object or character (like a candy cane, for example) floating or hiding somewhere on your screen, and if you click it, you earn a prize.  I won items such as ice skates and a winter toque during a click-to-win last winter.

Examples of Past Click-to-Win Prizes:

The Forum Section

This is the place to go if you are looking for a particular item. The Forum Section on Webkinz Newz has several forums where you can ask questions or trade items (though Reddit is a lot better for this in my opinion). This section is still useful though; I recommend making a post in the trading forum if you need a specific item, or post your trading list and say what you're looking for and see if you get any offers.  One time I posted about needing items from the Persian Palace rare theme, and someone kindly sent me several of the items for free!  I make sure to return the favor when I see people in need of items I have.

News

This is a very obvious one, but you can also find out lots of news about Webkinz World on Webkinz Newz.  There is way more information on Webkinz Newz than there is in the Kinzville Times.  I personally like to check what the current Wheel of Wow/Deluxe prizes are, what the seasonal event prizes are, what the Pet of the Month is, or if there are any challenges/events coming up.  You can also get room inspiration on Webkinz Newz; there is a specific section just for this!

Some of my favorite items (I'm using these to make a Newz Room):

I hope this post helped! Good luck earning moneyz!
